Halloween Weekend

Whew! Halloween is over! The boys and I went to the ranch this weekend to get out of Daddy's way when he was getting the house ready to put on the market! Yep, we have a sign in the front yard! We had so much fun! Here are tons of shots from yesterday.
Marshall rode the toy tractor Jake got on his 2nd birthday...he got the biggest kick out of it!
Then the boys got in the gator...they both never looked at the camera at the same again, but I got this precious shot of them staring each other down...
A few shots of the boys hanging out and playing with Heidi
Grandy and Marshall playing peekaboo and Marshall talking and talking and talking!
We had a GHOST ROAST!
Jake and Gaga had races and Gaga was trying to teach him to run while looking straight ahead! He prefers to look at his shadow to the side or whatever is behind him...gotta work on that kid!
Halloween night...we changed up M's costume again! It was 90 degrees today so we put him in something a little cooler than that hot devil suit...a sailor!
Tom put on a sheet and knocked on our front door (just like the ghost story I tell Jake where Casper comes to Jake's house)...Jake knew it was Daddy as soon as he spoke, but it was fun to see him react when he first saw "Casper"!
We went to a party down the street then trick or treating...
Marshall was such a trooper on his FIRST HALLOWEEN! He began moaning to himself around 8:00, so we all went home for baths and bed.
Overall, this Halloween season has been especially fun because Jake LOVES to be scared, hear ghost stories and "fill his pumpkin to the top"! He was a happy little boy during all of this and that's what matters.
Happy Halloween!

Marshall on Highway 95

Today we went for Marshall's two week checkup since he was sick with an ear infection and on antibiotics. He also got his flu shot booster...but, of course, took it like a champ!
Marshall is cruising Highway 95 again! The baby is back! He put on a whole pound in the past 2 weeks, from when he lost it while sick with an ear infection. He's 26 pounds 8 ounces and 31 inches tall. 95th percentile in both categories! You GO Chunky Monkey!
He really wanted out of the stroller
So, not only is my "baby" not really a baby anymore, since he weighs what some 2 year olds weigh, Jake is calling me "Mommy" now. Am I happy? Well, sort of. I was so excited to hear his first word and begged him to talk. Now that he is and is calling me the second tier of motherhood, I'm a little sad. Next it'll be Mom, then Mother! Oh no! But "Mommy" sure does sound cute!

School Party Day

Whew, what a day! It's only 3:15pm and it feels like it should be time for bed. Speaking of, both boys are actually taking a nap, well, Marshall is probably sleeping and Jake is playing with my iPad in his bed. I need a break! Wow...as soon as I typed that Marshall woke up crying and I checked on Jake and he's still awake with the iPad!
Today was Jake's "Fall Festival" (Halloween Party in the old days;) at Hillander. He got to wear his boxer costume all day.
When I dropped him off, Mrs. Hullender saw him and said "Are you the Ultimate Fighting Champion" and he said, "No, I'm a boxer." I got that moment on camera.
Here are a few shots from Jake's party this afternoon...
The kids stood up in front of the parents and did their poem..."Pick a pumpkin from a vine, this ones your and this ones mine. Pick a pumpkin from a vine, let's go picking" (I think...I forgot the last line!) They were so cute, but mumbled the whole thing!
Then they got a class picture. Jake was uncooperative...SURPRISE!!! The only "good" one I got is blurry.
Jake and his friend, Will
THEN...Daddy had picked up my car keys off the floor because they fell out of my pocket. He left around 1:45 to hurry and make it back to the office for a meeting at 2:00. Well, needless to say, he had to come back to the school at 2:00 to give me my keys. Here's a shot of Jake waiting for him by my car. Daddy was able to make it a little late to the meeting and still has a job.
And Marshall is in my lap...never slept. I'll be having my juice box around 4:30 today.

Mr. Fix It & Mr. Eat it

During the middle of our spaghetti dinner at home tonight, Jake said, "I need to fix something! Where's that screw driver?" He was eating at the bar and had looked on the floor under Marshall's highchair and noticed that one of the screws wasn't all the way screwed in...Jake to the rescue!
Daddy had to intervene and Marshall was very curious as to what was going on behind him.
Yes, that is Jake on Daddy's back. Yes, that is a hot dog bun that Marshall is shoving in his mouth.
Daddy and Jake then went to take a bath, but on the way, the little girls from across the street came over AGAIN to ask Jake to play outside! They've actually let down a little and only ask three times a week as opposed to every day. We aren't mean people, but Jake is just not allowed to play outside without us there, DUH! So, I got a shot of Tom giving his best excuse and trying to hide Jake. We better get used to fighting off the women!
And now it's time for Marshall to ham it up with Mommy and the camera (and eat some more)!
I'm so happy I got this on camera! Here he is covering his ear when I say "Where's Marshall?" for the Peekaboo game!
Then he dramatically put both hands behind his head and bowed!
Those eyes!
Today was just a lazy Wednesday. We stayed home all day and Marshall actually got to take 2 two hour naps, like he's supposed to! He only drank a bottle at 3pm (6oz) and 8pm (5oz)...so it's looking like he's phasing those out. Tom and I say HALLELUJAH! But at the same time, it's a little sad because there's another "baby" thing that's gone! He'll always be the baby though...
